Innovate Conference Supports Nonprofit Mission Throughout the Year

Recently, JMT Consulting hosted our annual customer conference Innovate 2017. Hundreds were in attendance to receive hands-on training for financial management solutions along with thought leadership sessions geared toward C-Level nonprofit financial executives.

Innovate 2017

INNOVATE 2017 was kicked off at an open-air welcome reception at the Margaritaville restaurant inside of Mohegan Sun, sponsored by Adaptive Insights.  Over cocktails and light appetizers, attendees had the opportunity to meet with JMT employees, speak with Vu Le, the opening keynote speaker and network with their peers.

The popular blogger, Vu Le (nonprofitaf.org), keynoted INNOVATE 2017, giving a thought provoking and entertaining talk on “Weaponized Data, and the Role of Finance Professionals in the Fight for Social Justice.”  The talk was filled with pictures of baby animals and unicorns.

Innovate featured five tracks, with more than 60 sessions presented throughout the week. Session topics included cost allocation, cloud financials, financial reporting and mastering both Abila MIP and Intacct, as well as HR and performance management subject matter.

The Financial Leadership track was very popular and featured sessions on increasing efficiencies, providing visibility and new accounting standards. Speakers included well-known thought from the nonprofit accounting sector – John Alfonso of CohnReznick, Thomas Peff of Adaptive Insights, Thomas Mclaughlin of McLaughlin & Associates, and John and Jacki Davidoff of Davidoff Mission-Driven Business Strategy.

On Wednesday evening, the fun continued at a mock Casino networking event, hosted by our friends at Intacct.  From craps to blackjack and Texas hold ‘em to roulette, attendees learned tips and tricks from professional dealers.  They also were able to network with JMT staff and one other as they played.
