Formed in 1967, Greater Jamaica Development Corporation is one of the nation’s first community development corporations. Since then, GJDC has become a model for economic transformation. GJDC encourages responsible private and public investment in Jamaica, Queens to enhance the quality of life for the residents and workers of Jamaica. We pride ourselves on our local focus, data-driven approach, high-impact programs and cross-sector collaborations—all leading to the revitalization of our storied community. Chrysalis serves people navigating barriers to the workforce by offering a job-readiness program, individualized supportive services, and paid transitional employment. We empower our clients on their pathway to stability, security, and fulfillment in their work and lives. Since 1984, Chrysalis has empowered more than 85,000 individuals experiencing financial insecurity and housing instability to navigate barriers to employment, carrying out John Dillon’s vision of changing lives through jobs. Chrysalis has been a client of JMT since June 2022.
The Henry Luce Foundation was formed in 1936 by Henry R. Luce, the founder of Fortune and co-founder of Time and Life magazines. Their mission then and now is to empower and transform people, communities, and institutions by boosting access to knowledge and forward-thinking ideas. Over eight decades, they’ve approached their work with the spirit of partnership and humility, in pursuit of a better world. The Henry Luce Foundation has been a client of JMT since June 2021.
